Keeping "in touch" at a distance

With our Central IL community (and the entire globe) practicing social distancing and isolation to delay the spread of COVID-19, our church family will wrestle with a very rare challenge: how do we remain together/united while physically apart? 21st century America has possibly lulled us into a sense of security in our habits, both personal and as a congregation. The spiritual “habit of meeting together” is an ancient one, and we’re not sure how long public health recommendations will disrupt these traditions. But alas, God is the same yesterday, today and forever. We need not look for long through His word or through recorded history to find circumstances far more extreme wherein disciples of Jesus kept their faith in God and in the body of Christ.

Below are some tips, resources and technical guides for communication during these times of social distancing. Some practices may even become habits of their own! A true opportunity to love one another as Jesus loved us. I’ll add to this list as I learn of more options and great ideas catching fire among the disciples!
